Tinder has given their app a welcome update. Users can now post an extended sexual preference on their profile. Based on these preferences, the dating application itself determines which other Tinder users a user will see.
To properly roll out this function, Tinder worked together with the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation or GLAAD for short. With this new option “Tinder becomes a safer environment for LGBTQ users,” says GLAAD’s Rich Ferraro.
The new update is not yet available in Belgium and the Netherlands. The feature is first rolled out in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, India, Australia and New Zealand. So wait a while …
Tinder came in the news yesterday because the Russian regulator ‘Roskomnadzor’ requested private messages, audio and video from Tinder users. It is not yet clear why this information was requested. In some cases it is possible that certain authorities can request this information. But according to Datanews, this would be used to muzzle the opposition.
