PayPal stops paying models on PornHub, chance for bitcoin (BTC)?

Use of Bitcoin (BTC) network is approaching all-time high

The popular adult website PornHub announced on November 13 that payment processor PayPal has suddenly stopped paying out PornHubs models. The crypto community sees this as an ideal opportunity for bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies.

Models from PornHub are now being forced to accept payouts via direct deposits or check. It is as yet unknown why PayPal suddenly quits.

We are all devastated by PayPal’s decision to stop paying out to more than one hundred thousand artists who rely on them for their livelihood.

This statement can be read in a blog post of PornHub. The website already accepts a few cryptocurrencies for payments such as verge (XVG) and zcash (ZEC). However, a report from last year shows that less than 1% of users on PornHub actually pay with cryptocurrency.

Yet it is possible that this will now change. A few prominent figures from the crypto industry responded immediately to the news. Changpeng Zhao, CEO of cryptocurrency-exchange Binance, writes on Twitter that this sounds like an “opportunity for crypto”:

Justin Sun, CEO of the Tron Foundation, says that PornHub is already accepting payments with TRON (TRX) and that they should now add support for USDT-TRC20:

However, the question is whether the models are also open to cryptocurrency. This is how model Shyla Jennings writes on Twitter:

Crypto, personal portal… LOL. I don’t understand what that even is. I’m cool with just direct deposit into my bank account.
