In addition to a good internet connection and a Stadia subscription, you will also have to pay the full price for games.
More and more information is coming out about Google’s own gaming streaming service Google Stadia, but there are still many questions. What the games will cost, for example. Since you first and foremost need a fast internet connection for Google Stadia (and preferably with unlimited bandwidth) and a Stadia subscription if you want to experience the games in the highest quality, it was hoped that the games would be a bit cheaper to compensate. According to Phil Harrison of Google this will not be the case.
“I have no idea why games would be cheaper at Stadia,” Harrison told Eurogamer. So at first glance, a full price for games seems somewhat difficult to justify, but according to Harrison, the value lies in the fact that the games are accessible everywhere. “The value you get from the game at Stadia is that you can play it on any screen – TV, PC, laptop, tablet, phone,” says Harrison. “I think that will be valuable for the players.”
However, it is not yet clear exactly how much the games will cost at Stadia. “The publisher or developer has just as much control over the prices as we do, so it’s a bit difficult for me to predict what the prices will be. However, we will be clearly aware of the current prices on the market. ”
Google Stadia will be launched in November. The service can already be ordered via the official website.
