Google Duo is no longer just for duos.

Those who want to video chat or make calls over the internet often use WhatsApp, Facetime or Facebook Messenger, but that doesn’t stop Google from further developing their own video chat app Google Duo.

In a new update , Google adds the possibility of video calling with eight people at the same time. Ideal for a quick meeting with your family. The new feature is immediately introduced for Android and iOS. Google Duo is also available via the website, but it is not possible to make video calls with eight people. If you still want to make video calls with several people, you can, however, use Google Meet.

Personalized video messages

The update also introduces personalized video messages. This means that you can record a short video message and send it to a contact. These video messages can also be additionally enriched with emojis or by drawing on the image. This functionality is being rolled out for Android at the time of writing and will soon also be coming to iOS.
