Bose adds Google Assistant to smart speakers and comes with Home Speaker 300

Following the example of Sonos and Somfy, Bose has now also added support for the Google Assistant to some of its smart speakers and sound bars. Bose also announced the Home Speaker 300.

Owners of a Bose Home Speaker 500, Soundbar 700 and Soundbar 500 can now also use the Google Assistant in addition to the standard Amazon Alexa voice assistant . With the latest version of the Bose Music app, they can choose their preferred assistant. When using the smart speaker for the first time, they can immediately choose which personal assistant they want to use.

In the summer Bose releases the compact Home Speaker 300 and also smart speakers that the company releases afterwards receive Google Assistant support. The fifteen centimeter high Home Speaker 300 has no LCD like the 500 but does support AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth. The announcement comes on the same day that Somfy announced Google Assistant support and a week after Sonos did this.
